I would like to thank you for the help that you have given to me. As you know I am suffering from peripheral neuropathy as a result of treatment for bowel cancer. Amongst other things this has affected my balance. The regime of exercises that you have specifically designed for me has helped me to cope with this problem. Your empathy with my situation despite my age (now 80!) is much appreciated. I am now feeling much more confident in walking and no longer fear so much that I will fall over. My muscles have also appeared to regenerate. Your continuing monitoring of my progress and support has been a great help. I would recommend your services to anyone seeking help coping with balance difficulties or indeed assistance for their well-being.
I took up Pilates after surgery on my back and have been with Jo for nearly 3 years. To say my life as been transformed is an understatement. I feel strong and supple. Jo is aware of everyone’s weaknesses and personalises every movement to suit them. She has a calm and sunny personality. I feel in a safe pair of hands.
I had had back pain for about 8months last year. Three minor day surgery operations had failed to make it go away. My sister suggested I see someone who is qualified and organises Pilates' classes. Being a member of STSC, where Jo runs classes, I arranged to meet her for a private session. She recommended a series of exercises aimed specifically at my lower spine. The pain started to diminish such that I needed fewer painkillers. Jo suggested I increased the number of repetitions of the exercises. I did this and within 3 weeks I was off painkillers totally. Now some 3months on, still doing the exercises at the increased repetitions, I am able to play golf and do gardening provided I do not do too much.
While having the one to one sessions Jo noticed my walking was not good. She recommended a series of exercises to strengthen my leg muscles. Having done these exercises for some 3 months I am walking much better and able to keep going longer.
The sessions with Jo have certainly been worthwhile and I have been on holiday to Australia and planning to go to Spain in July. My lawn gets mown without me struggling and I am feeling much more confidant about doing daily tasks
I would recommend any body with lower back pain and /or limited walking ability to have a session with Jo.
Hi Jo, I just wanted to thank you! I’m so happy I found your class was starting in a new location a couple of months ago and joined. It was my first experience of Pilates and I’m so happy I’ve found something I am committed to going to each week. It’s not only the fact that I enjoy the practical side of the class, it’s also been lovely getting to know my classmates and I enjoy catching up with everyone each week. Also Jo, you take a real interest in everyone, what they can do and support them to go further, but within their own limitations. Thank you! X
I had a major back operation in 2016, prior to this I did Pilates but the class stopped and I was looking for a class to help me with my recovery.
I put a post on Facebook and Jo contacted me!
Jo assessed my ability and Little by little I started to get stronger.
I still attend the classes to date, I will always be grateful for her help in my recovery and recommend her all the time! Thank you Jo!
